Salazar decided it was time to go back to school to obtain his veterinary degree. Following his dreams of becoming a mixed animal practitioner, Dr. Salazar moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico. After nearly two years out west, he decided to move closer to his family and to begin seeking practice ownership opportunities. Shortly after relocating to Central Florida, Dr. Salazar met his now wife, April. They began dating in May 2014, married in November 2015, and welcomed their son, Hunter, to the world in August 2016. As a family, they enjoy fishing: hiking; going to the beach, water parks, and theme parks; and traveling. Salazar has been an Orlando-based veterinarian since 2014, touching the lives of pets and their families from Poinciana to East Orlando and everywhere in between. He is adamant about being fair and honest and maintaining high standards of care for every pet. His passion for pets and upholding the oaths he took when graduating from vet school are evident in the way he cares for each pet as if they were his own. I only had four years to prepare myself academically, get involved in a wide variety of research and volunteer experiences, and study for the Medical College Admissions Test MCAT. All of these factors play a pivotal role in allowing an admissions committee to decide whether or not you will be an exceptional candidate for a Doctor of Medicine MD degree. College was no walk in the park. I had my fair share of struggles academically but what I found to work best was to focus solely on academics until I proved to myself that I could handle the rigor of the pre-medical curriculum. This to me was the easier of the two. During my preparation period prior to starting college, I figured out what some of the common activities were that successful applicants did to get into medical school. To no avail, I was rejected from both positions. Why would I want to do things that everyone else does?
So from that point on, I set out to develop my own programs and create student groups that generated from my personal interests.
