MAZDA PROTEGE LOOK
К сожалению, серийная версия Arata в ближайшее время не появятся в Европе. Тем не менее, дизайн новинки может дать представление о том, как будут выглядеть будущие модели Mazda, включая полностью электрические автомобили. Плохая шумоизоляция. Сперва шумели шины, причем шумели конкретно. Поменял — стал шуметь мотор. Ну а камушки как долбили по днищу, так и долбят. По грунтовке или гравию хоть не езди: сердце сжимается.
Спасает магнитола. О шинах и управляемости: Danlop, который достался вместе с машиной — ерунда редкостная. Шумят, тормозят откровенно плохо. Поменял на Gislaved и машину как подменили. Управляемость стала близка к отличной, руль пусть и не такой острый как на 2108, но для города более чем достаточно.
Во всяком случае на трассе из нескольких очень неприятных ситуаций вылез без проблем. Мотор немного слабоват. По городу хватает за глаза, если не бояться давить на педальку. А на трассе тяжело. Кнопка овердрайв помогает, но не всегда.
К тому же на высоких скоростях раздражает звук мотора, и больше 140 ехать просто неприятно. Вообще, машина создана явно не для трасс и дальних поездок. Шумно, большой расход, слабая динамика.
Батарея, скорее всего, размещена в центральном тоннеле и частично за креслами водителя и единственного пассажира. За красивым пухлым рулём видим лепестки, которые, очевидно, регулируют рекуперативную мощность силовой установки. Мультимедийный экран органично интегрирован в переднюю панель, а не парит над ней в виде планшета. Селектор режимов трансмиссии на центральном тоннеле выполнен в виде четырёх клавиш-педалей, как у классической гармони.
Responsive drive The best part about the Mazda Protege 5 is the drive. The Protege 5 is simply a nimble machine on the road. You will be astonished by the fact that despite the weight, the car can move through traffic swiftly. The main reason why the Protege 5 handles so well, is down to its steering input. It is a hydraulic steering system and it does a better job than most electronic steering systems. The weight feels firm on your hands and the car feels very on-centered when you turn. There is no lack of power when you press the throttle and you can feel the car come alive as you step on it. The combination of the light and nimble steering, with the newer smoother engine, gives you a responsive drive that does not feel boring. Another thing to note is the brilliant viewing angle of the car, you will be able to see all directions clearly and have nothing to worry about. Comfortable wagon-style ergonomics The Mazda Protege 5 has good interiors, not great, but good. It is cheap and you will not find a lot of expensive elements in the car. You may think Mazda has put a foot wrong but this is by design. You get plastic but the soft touch on the plastic is good. The controls are not metal or have the greatest design layout, but they are simple and can be easily accessed. Everything is easy to use and easy to reach.

I try my hardest to drive the car on the street and driving the car to the track helps shake down any other issues that may come up. As always the Protege felt great.. The first session for me was a workout.
It had been months since I had been on track and jumping back on Road Atlanta was completely overwhelming. I forgot how involved and how much concentration it takes to focus and get in the zone. I was forgetting to shift, afraid to brake too hard, missing shifts, forgetting what gear I was in, and still nervous about the car holding together. The next session I had shook the nerves and I trusted the car much more and I was able to get back to feeling comfortable in the car again. After driving al last year without power steering I never got to fully enjoy the LSD. With power steering back, I could focus more and carry much more speed out of Turn 3, 5 and 7 without any understeer. It also helped keep the rear planted and I felt much more confident.
