Mittelstadt has excellent puck handling ability. He can beat defencemen one-on-one with a number of moves, and has the soft hands to stick handle in a phone both. He combines this with excellent speed, and the ability to make cuts on a dime. Mittlestadt is an excellent play maker who creates passing lanes with his quick puck movement.
He also has a good shot. He put up nine goals and 10 points in just five games for Finland. Tolvanen is a pure sniper who scores goals in a variety of different ways. He reads the play extremely well, and uses a quick first step and excellent accleration to allude defenders and get himself open to fire a shot on goal.
Tolvanen has an outstanding one-timer, with great power and accuracy. He also has a lightning quick release on his wrist shot. Tolvanen has the soft hands to make quick moves and beat defenders with his stick handling ability. He can bury rebounds and has the hand-eye coordination to get deflections in front of the net as well.
He also has plenty of experience playing for the National team at the Ivan Hlinka tournament, the U18, and the U17 levels. Hischier is a playmaker, with outstanding vision and passing ability. He has very good hockey sense, and anticipates his teammates movements in the offensive zone. Hischier has a very quick first step, excellent acceleration and agility, as well as great edgework.
This, along with quick hands, allow him to avoid defenders and make him very elusive when working the puck in the offensive zone. Hischier also has a very high work ethic, he never seems to stop working during a shift. The answer is Callan Foote. Foote scored eight goals and 36 points in 71 games as a WHL rookie, showing real offensive prowess.
Foote is an excellent skater. He skates well in both directions, and solid pivots and edgework allow him to cover a lot of ice. Its more about battling in the corners and clearing the front of the net than throwing big open-ice hits though. Foote has a hard slap shot which he keeps low and puts on net.
He also has good poise with the puck on his stick, and the vision to quarterback things from the point on the power play. He topped that in his second year, putting up 19 goals and 71 points in just 57 games. The 71 points led the Chiefs in Scoring.

Клим Костин 31-й номер драфта , Александр Волков 48-й , Андрей Алтыбармакян 70-й и Алексей Липанов 76-й до сегодняшнего дня строили свою карьеру преимущественно на просторах МХЛ и ВХЛ, но этот факт их возможных будущих работодателей не отпугнул.
В прошедшем сезоне Андрей обратил на себя внимание тем, что в прямом смысле зажигал на Матче звёзд КХЛ.
Форварду московского «Динамо» Алексею Липанову прочили выбор даже в первом раунде, но в итоге он стал лишь 76-м. На него глаз положила «Тампа». Липанов был капитаном юниорской сборной России на последнем чемпионате мира, его сравнивают с Игорем Ларионовым и Джонатаном Тэйвзом.
Два года назад они выбрали Ивана Федотова из нижнекамского «Реактора», но это только вскружило ему голову и подпортило карьеру. Сейчас свой выбор в третьем раунде они потратили на Кирилла Устименко, который родился в Беларуси, но получил российский паспорт и выступает в МХЛ в петербургском «Динамо». Сын в прошлом известного футбольного вратаря Андрея Саморукова Дмитрий «отмучился» в третьем раунде — «Эдмонтон Ойлерз» обратил на него внимание.
Сын другого известного, но уже хоккейного голкипера Вадима Тарасова Даниил пропустил весь прошлый сезон из-за травмы, но «Коламбус» видел его в деле годом ранее и посчитал, что 86-й выбор на драфте стоит потратить именно на этого игрока. Тем более кумиром в детстве Сергея Бобровского был именно Вадим Тарасов. Первый русский выбор «Вегаса» и падение Попугаева Возвращаясь к Устименко, он был вторым вратарём сборной России на последнем ЮЧМ, где россияне взяли первые за шесть лет медали.

Swiss star Nico Hischier of the Halifax Mooseheads in the Quebec League is both smart and skilled enough to go first overall, as he led all CHL rookies in scoring and carried a thin roster to the postseason. Playing center with a wiry frame is perfectly normal in major junior, but Hischier will need to fill out before competing and succeeding against the bigger pivots in the NHL. The biggest riser in the first round is a kid who continued to prove me wrong all season. It may seem as though sublime defender Cale Makar from the Brooks Bandits is simply a flavor-of-the-month kind of prospect because of the way he crushed a lesser-known league like the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
It took a while, but I finally realized that questioning the level his competition, or his choosing to attend UMass-Amherst over bigger, tougher NCAA programs, is nitpicking at its finest. But times are changing, and the Big Leagues are desperately promoting speed and skill, two things Makar has in spades. Klim Kostin was a favorite player of mine in the preseason, but his draft year was as incomplete as they come.
